Car Hire

Go to the destinations you want to go with car hire.

Before you Book

Be realistic about the size of the car you will need, don’t forget you have to cart all of your luggage with you, and having the kids sitting on top of each other is not necessarily a good bonding exercise, for the sake of a few dollars invest in a larger vehicle than the economy zip zip type.

Car seat

Many companies will hire your car seats, booster seats for an additional amount per day. Make sure that the car seat supplied will be appropriate for the age of the child. You don’t want to turn up with a four year old to find an infant capsule installed.

GPS and Guided tours

Another invaluable tool when travelling is the GPS option, not only will it issue directions in a much calmer voice than most partners, some have an added feature of story telling which is another welcome distraction on longer journeys for the kids.

Games and distraction

Be prepared for the trip with an arsenal of games – and not just the electrical type! Simple games like I Spy or Animal Vegetable Mineral are great to while the time away with.

Motorhome experience

Motorhomes are an excellent means of combining your travel with accommodation – again a little research into the size of these and choosing the appropriate one will only benefit you in the long run. Another tip with motorhomes is to check what the vision is like from the back. If the kids are strapped in behind looking at the back of your heads it is not much fun for them!
